Tips For Organizing Your Kitchen

Could you walk into your kitchen right now and find everything you need to bake a birthday cake in ten minutes? If not, then you need to organize your kitchen in such a way that you could find anything you need in that much time.

Does your kitchen have a drawer in it that catches everything from loose screws to picnic items? If so, then you need to dump it out and place dividers in the drawer. This will keep things in perspective when you open the drawer looking form something the next time.

Do you have a countertop microwave? If you do, then you should have it arranged in a convenient and easy to use place. You should not put it in the way of cabinet doors or close to the heat from the oven. The best thing to do is to get a free standing microwave table that has rollers for moving it when you want to.

Do you dread looking for those round cake pans in the bottom of the cabinets whenever you want to bake a cake? Do you clatter around noisily under that same cabinet when you need a saucepan as well? If so, then you need to put your pots and pans in easy reach. Hanging pans up on the wall is one way a lot of people save space and decorate their kitchen at the same time.

While it may seem a picky thing to do, you should always arrange the foods in your cabinets by groups. This is a big time saver when it comes to standing in front of the open cabinets, wondering what to make for dinner. Planning a meal is a lot easier when you know what you are working with.

When you have a family and kids, you can never tell when you might have to make a dish or bake a special cake on a moment’s notice. You might get a note from your child’s class about the need for a cake at the Valentine’s party. It would mean it is time to find your heart cake pan. If you are organized, you will not dread this part of baking anymore.

Baking cookies with your children is a great way to make memories together. Many parents end up in the kitchen with their little ones, writ deep in chocolate chip dough. Make these kinds of memories a lot better by keeping things neat and handy in your kitchen.
